It happens to everybody: if one member of the family gets flu, soon enough you'll see that everybody. Do you know that you can spread the virus even before you start manifesting the symptoms? And before you know it, you have already infected your entire family before you start feeling sick yourself. You can read more of this at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website.
While not absolute, here are simple steps you can take to help yourself and the people around you in preventing the spread of flu virus and other diseases:
- Get yourself vaccinated.
- Cover your mouth every time you cough or sneeze
- Avoid touching your eyes, mouth, and nose.
- Avoid crowded places as much as possible
- Wash your hands often with warm water and soap
- Limit direct contact from people who are sick
- Carry on a disinfecting solution such as alcohol
- Live a healthy lifestyle by eating nutritious food such as fruits and vegetables and getting enough rest.
