A few weeks ago, I blogged about the importance of sleep for the brain, now I found a very interesting article in the Healthline about the choosing the right color for your room, furniture, bedding, and lighting. Its a fun interactive tool and will give you pretty cool info about how you can make your room a more inviting place to sleep. While I am not an expert, I'd like to leave some tips on how you can get the right amount of sleep you need everyday. These tips are not absolute but may change depending on your personal preference but this list definitely reflects what experts consider as prerequisite to a good night sleep:
- Limit caffeine intake (at least four hours before you sleep
- Stick (as much as possible) to a regular sleep schedule
- Get plenty of exercise
- Minimize (if not stop) worrying
- Eat right. Balance diet, that is.
- Never smoke
- Pray (Meditate).
Also, stop using medication just for you to fall asleep since these drugs are sometimes addictive. Consult your doctor if you ever have frequent problems sleeping. Self-medicating is not always OK.
